Jamie Roth never expected to become an author, podcaster, or speaker. In her conversation with Cazerny Bussey on Even Though I’m Blind Experience, she shares how losing her sight changed her relationship with herself—and opened a path into storytelling.

Jamie describes experiencing rapid vision loss over roughly three months in 2021. Alongside the practical adjustments came uncertainty, fear, and questions about what her future would look like. Her experience eventually became the foundation for her memoir, Should’ve Seen That Coming: Navigating the In-Between Moments of Acceptance, Surrender, and Resilience.

During the episode, Jamie and Cazerny explore identity, spirituality, and acceptance. Jamie speaks about learning to meet herself where she is, stay present, and release expectations about how life was supposed to unfold. She describes a process with difficult moments as well as unexpected discoveries.

That willingness to adapt also shaped her audiobook. Jamie explains that a friend read her short passages in the studio, which she then repeated in her own voice. Across five days of recording, she found a way to tell her story herself.

Her podcast, My Higher Self Has Questions, continues her exploration of spirituality and personal reflection. Her website brings together her writing, podcast, speaking work, and opportunities to connect.

The conversation offers a personal account of navigating change while continuing to create, ask questions, and build a meaningful life.
